Philip A. Epstein - Chairman and CEO
 
Philip is an experienced public company executive and investment manager who has served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer in the global energy, renewable power, mining and pharmaceutical industries.  A mergers & acquisitions and securities lawyer by training, Philip has focused on helping to found (or restructure), finance, operate and monetize private and public companies since the 1990s.  Philip participated in the growth and monetization of several significant enterprises including assisting in the early capitalization and growth of Belco Oil & Gas Corp. (NYSE:BOG) and Chesapeake Energy Corporation (NYSE:CHK) and the founding and monetization of Superior Renewable Energy LLC (acquired by the predecessor of Pattern Energy Group – NASDAQ:PEGI) and Heritage Pharmaceuticals Inc.  Since 1992, Philip has played a leading role in raising and deploying approximately $1.8 Billion in capital for both public and private companies.  Philip currently is Co-Managing Partner of Bright Stream Energy, an international energy company focused on upstream and mid-stream assets, a member of the Board of Directors of Petroreconcavo S.A. (BVMF: RECV3), a leading independent Brazil energy company, and Chairman of Aviv Pharma Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical development company focused on generic products.  Philip has a BA in Philosophy from The University of Chicago, an MA (Oxon) in Politics and Economics from Oxford University, and a JD from Northwestern University Law School.  Philip has served as a senior advisor to International Family AIDS Program, is a past Director of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (NY Chapter) and is a current advisory board member of ACLED (https://acleddata.com).
